A lot of people are talking about chakras and how important it is to keep them balanced.
But what actually are chakras? Let's talk about it.
Chakras are energy centers that are in constant energy exchange with our environment.
They also serve as cross points for our meridians and enable the flow of our life force energy (Prana) through the body.
Every human has 12 chakras but only seven of them are talked about the most. (More on the remaining five chakras in an upcoming article).
Those seven chakras are located along the spine and are constantly spinning and working together like gear wheels.
They are directing the prana onto the ''energetic highways'' (Meridians) to every cell in our body. The chakras also serve as portals through which energy is being exchanged between the environment and the body.
So therefore their functioning and their balance is essential to keep our body healthy and our mind and energy clear.
Each one of them is connected to specific areas of the body, emotions and topics in our lives.
They operate on certain frequencies and are associated with colors.
Here's a little overview:
Root Chakra (Muladhara): Survival, Trust - Skeletal system
Sacral Chakra (Svadisthana): Relationships, Sexuality - Reproductive system
Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Joy, Self-Love - Stomach
Heart Chakra (Anahata): Love, Compassion - Heart and Lungs
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): Communication, Truth - Throat and Neck
Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): Intuition, Wisdom - Face
Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): Expansion, Higher Self - Brain
More about each chakra and how you can balance them in upcoming articles!
